Good news :)

I made the Deans List, 4.0!! I studied so hard for this. I only have one class this next semester instead of 4, thank goodness. Then if all goes well in October I should be starting my clinicals. There is a waiting list for that and they take the people who made the Deans List first, one reason why I've been studying so hard! It paid off!! :)

I know it's a day late but....Happy Easter! I hope that all of you had a wonderful one. It was soooo wet here. It poured rain all day, I haven't seen it rain this hard in a really long time. We still had a good Easter and did the egg hunt in the house. Very lively with 5 kids! Both of my friends and their families were here so it was fun and I felt blessed :) Oh and I found out how I did on that final I took last Monday in my Nutrition class....I made a 87 with my final grade being a 97! Talk about relief. So out of my 4 classes, in 3 I made an A and I'll find out this week how I did in my last one. I have studied so hard for this and it's paying off :) Ben has today off and the sun is shining! So we're either going to go to Forsyth Park, beautiful Park in Savannah or going to Tybee! Happy Monday :)

Good Friday

Thanks for all of the get well wishes, that means alot to me :)
I hope that all of you have a wonderful Good Friday and Easter.

I'm starting to feel somewhat human again, thankfully. It seems that whatever I had just want to hang on even though I was trying to get rid of it. My final on Monday in my Nutrition and Diet Therapy class wasn't pretty at all. I don't know what I got, I will find out this weekend, but I felt like I was in a fog, cold meds will do that to you. I did my best and what's done is done. My other final on Wednesday in Intro to Healthcare, I got a 94 on :) So this next week I should find out what I got in all of my classes. I'm really excited to be on spring break and to know that this next semester I only have ONE more class to take, anatomy, and then in October I start my clinicals. YAHHH! lol And I don't have classes until April 4th :)

The kids have off today since it's Good Friday so we will be busy. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate since we have some yard work out there to do. I need to get my house back in order especially since we're having some of our friends over for Easter and Ben has invited a couple of his soldiers over also. The house isn't that bad but it feels like it is, if you get that. I think it has to do with me not being at 100 percent, school, etc. So today is the day to tackle it!

Ben is suppose to be coming home from the field sometime this evening too. I have a huge respect for all of the military wives and families out there and you all are doing a great job! Continued prayers for the soldiers and their families.

ugh it looks like rain! lol Happy spring!

Happy Spring

The first official day of spring and I am sick, go figure! I thought I had been so careful when my kids were sick but I guess it makes sense that when they get all better I get it, actually no it doesn't make sense! lol

Last week they had their spring break and it was cold and rainy the entire week, until the weekend hit. 70's, warm sum and just beautiful out. We had fun anyway and even caught the movie Robots, which is really good, during the matinee special. Today they all go back and my spring break starts on Thursday. I have a final today, over 15 chapters with 125 questions, and then my last one on Wednesday. I don't go back to classes until April 4th and only have to take one next quarter, anatomy and physiology. Then if all goes well I should be in my nursing clinicals come October :)

Ben has been in the field all last week and should be home this coming Friday :)
I felt so bad for all of them being that last week was just nasty outside. He hinted that he may have Monday off since they are working on Good Friday, I have that day off too and the kids are in school :)

I think I have finally found a church. It really reminds me of the one we use to go to in Texas and the kids love it. They have a wonderful program for the kids and teens. It just feels right going there and I feel so at peace when I leave.

Happy Spring to all and wish me luck on my finals, I'm going to need it :)

Ben has been home exactly one year today! It sure has flown by and I am so thankful that he made it home safely for the 3rd time. I remember the excitement I felt waiting for him to come back into my arms. Thank you God for bringing him home to us and continued prayers for the soldiers who are away from home right now. (This is a pic of him while he was over there, guard tower duty)

Today is the first day of spring break for the kids. Of course my spring break doesn't start until after the kids' but I guess that will work out alright. Ben is suppose to be coming home from the field today, then going back Tuesday for 14 days. That means no Easter with him and we have a houseful coming over. Caitlin can pitch in, she just doesn't know it yet, hehe! TGIF and have a wonderful weekend :)

And we are not afraid, but are quite content to die, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
2 Cor 5:8

God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, nor crying, nether shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:4

Jesus told her, "I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again. Anyone who believes in me, even though he died like anyone else, shall live again. He is given eternal life for believing in me and shall never perish.
John 11:25, 26

After you have suffered a little while, our God, who is full of kindness through Christ, will forgive you his eternal glory. He personally will come and pick you up, and set you firmly in place, and make you stronger than ever. To him be all power over all things forever and ever. Amen
1 Peter 5:10, 11

The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking.
Psalm 34:18a

And it was right and proper that God, who made everything for his own glory, should allow Jesus to suffer,For in doing this He was bringing vast multitudes of God's people to heaven; For His suffering made Jesus a perfect Leader, one fit to bring them into their salvation.
Heb 2:10

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Psalm 116:15

They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy.
Psalm 126:6

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.
Helen Keller

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup Runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23

"Believe when you're lonely the Lord is by your side. Trust Him forever and in
His love abide. Believe His power, believe when you pray. Believe He hears you; He's never far away. Believe when doubt fills you the Lord is by your side.
Trust He will lead you and ever be your guide."
from the song "Believe He Loves You" by Berta & Sonja Poorman

That which does not kill me makes me stronger.
Friedrich Nietzsche, Author

Tears are sometimes an inappropriate response to death. When a life has been lived completely honestly, completely successfully, or just completely, the correct response to death's perfect punctuation mark is a smile.
Julie Burchill

Your lost friends are not dead, but gone before, advanced a stage or two upon that road which you must travel in the steps they trod.
Aristophanes

Life is a dream walking, death is going home.
Chinese Proverb

"Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same".

"This world is not conclusion. A sequel stands beyond; invisible, as music -- but positive, as sound."
Emily Dickinson

Saturday was the annual Pinewood Derby Race for the cub scouts. Here is brother vs. brother....Matthew's car is the red one and Justin's car is the yellow one. In this particular "heat" Justin won and of course Matthew didn't like the idea of his little brother beating him but took it in stride. In Matthews Den he came in First and in Justin's Den he came in first. In the whole Pack Justin came in 3rd! Way to go Matthew and Justin. I'll have a few more pics of it in the next few days so beware! lol

Playing along

I got this from Robbie - http://journals.aol.com/krobbie67/RobbiesRantsRaves/entries/1938 - who got it from Trish, etc. It's 10 things I've done that you probably haven't done. My list isn't nearly as exciting as some but oh well :)

1. Given birth 3 times without painkillers - never said I was smart! lol
2. I've moved 8 times - military
3. I've been certified in CPR three times now
4. I lived within 3 blocks of the BTK killer when I was a small child - still gives me the creeps thinking about it now and not knowing it then!
5. I can play the flute, piano and organ
6. Been in all of the states except for 5 - we did a lot of traveling in the summer when I was growing up.
7. Had my feet in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and several of the Great Lakes
8. Was a hair stylist for 5 years
9. Won an award for helping out with my husbands unit while they were deployed to Bosnia.
10. I now know how to sterilize medical equipment

Not that incredible but it's my list :) lol

Yah it's Friday :)

Last night was my last class for Medical Terminology, I have an A there. An A that I worked really hard for. So now I just have 3 more classes and about 2 and a half weeks of this semester left. It's all good :)

Ben had his medical review board yesterday. Sometimes I just don't understand the military. Since his back isn't on his profile but his treatments are listed in his medical records he has to go back through the system to get his back on his profile and then continue his treatments for his back. After 6 months they will rereview his case and either change his job or medically chapter him out, which it sounds like they are leaning towards since his back is involved. We talked over our options last night and came up with a pretty good gameplan if the later happens. You gotta be prepared! So in 6 months we'll see, it feels like we're starting over from square one. I know he's frustrated since all of this could have been avoided if they would have treated his ankle in the first place instead of shipping him off to Iraq on a broken ankle. *sigh* He came home this week and was in so much pain again since he had to be on it a lot due to training exercises. He doesn't say a lot but you can tell and when he can barely walk we have a problem! I just want him pain free....

Tomorrow Matthew and Justin will be participating in the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. It should be a lot of fun :) Also on tomorrow's agenda...Myriam has invited us and the kids to go to Chuck E Cheeses with her and her kids. We have coupons which is always a bonus! lol

Caitlin was accepted into the high school she wanted to go to so we are all pleased with that. They want us to register her by the end of this month which I thought was a tad early but not a problem.

What do you do if you tell a friend something, granted it's good news ,but you don't want everyone hearing about it just yet and they go and tell everyone? Myriam had this same particular problem with this person a few weeks ago.

TGIF!

BTK

Kansas can breath a collective sigh of relief now that the BTK killer has been found. I remember hearing about it growing up in the Wichita area and also remember the night my parents first locked our doors. We never use to have to do that until that particular person started to terrorize our area. Come to find out that he lived only a few blocks from us in Park City where we use to live until we moved to a smaller town about 15 miles away. I just hope that the victim's families can rest a little easier now. He did so much damage to those families and to think that he was a "leader" in the community, too scary for words!

Continued prayers for all of our soldiers....
